Being a kid can be tough.
‘My Brave Book’ is a journal for kids aged 4-8 years old. It’s a way for them to journal their scary moments so that when they’re scared, anxious or nervous about doing something, they have proof they’ve been brave before – and they can do it again. Anxiety and low confidence can be an awful experience for kids, but ‘My Brave Book’ helps teach them how to manage it from a young age.
There’s no right or wrong; draw experiences, write stories or print photos to glue in.
How it’s different from other journals
A5 spiral bound
It’s the perfect size for little hands to hold onto, and the spiral binding means it lays flat. This makes it easier to write and draw in, compared to traditional binding.
The cover and some internal pages are colour, but for the most part it’s black and white. This keeps it low sensory to avoid over-stimulation.
Journaling gives kids a task that can be part of their regular routine.
Along with helping to ease anxiety, writing about it helps them develop writing and storytelling skills.
Drawing is a form of art therapy and helps to calm the nervous system.
So much to learn, so many expectations. Let’s create more confident kids.
